Blue neuron connected to other neurons with a spiderweb look

The brain is a complex and complicated organ that controls so much of our bodies. So how do neurons work?

Neurons are the electrical pulses that send signals from the brain to different parts of our bodys’. Our neurons are interesting because they act just like digital transistors, meaning that they are either firing or they are not. How do neurons decide to fire? They have what is known as an activation level, which means that a specific set of conditions must be met in order for a neuron to be fired. A simple explanation would be filling a bin with water and at some point in the bin there was an opening to drain the water to a bucket. The opening to the bucket would be the activation point.
